"Paint" Alexandria 2010

 

 

The Art League’s "Paint" Alexandria is an annual all-media plein air event featured each spring in Old Town. For 2010, we are offering this as a FREE event for artists of all media and skill levels on Saturday, June 19.

We invite artists, art appreciators, and the artistically curious to join Art League instructors as they visually explore and interpret historic Old Town. Sessions with different instructors are held over the day in a variety of media including painting, drawing, and photography. The public is encouraged to watch the artists at work.

We invite all who are interested in volunteering at the event to contact us at admin@theartleague.org or 703.549.5450 for more details-- we'd love to have your help!

9:30 am - 11:30 pm
Patrick Kirwin: acrylic painting along the waterfront. (Meet on the dock behind the Torpedo Factory)
 
10:00 am - 12:00 noon
Libby Cullen: Photographic walking tour of Old Town. (Meet on the front steps of the Torpedo Factory)

11:30 am - 1:30 pm
Daniel Wise: painting along the waterfront in pastel. (Meet of the front steps of the Torpedo Factory)

1:30 - 3:30 pm
Avis Fleming: sketchbook drawing in pencil, pen, or watercolor. (Meet at the 400 block of South Lee Street)
 
3:30 - 5:30 pm
Peter Ulrich: composing a loose watercolor. (Meet at King and Union Streets across from Starbucks)
 
4:30 - 6:30 pm
Robert Liberace: drawing demonstration. (Meet at Prince and Union Streets)

6:30 - 8:30 pm
Sara Linda Poly: capturing the sunset. (Meet in Founders Park)
