July 2024 Open Exhibit

Experience the authentic creativity of member artists through Open Exhibits at The Art League. This collection—92 artworks in all— boasts a vibrant mix of painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and mixed media. The July 2024 Open Exhibit, meticulously curated by respected artist and William & Mary professor, Elizabeth Mead, is a testament to the passion and talent within our artistic community.

Vanishing by Holly Cole

Holly Cole’s enchanting exhibit, Vanishing, is a heartfelt tribute to the disappearing species on our planet. Drawing inspiration from the resilience of endangered animals, she creates breathtaking sculptures and quilts using surplus military fabric and sheers. Through her art, Holly warmly highlights the pressing issues of fast-vanishing habitats, trophy hunting, and shifting climates, inviting us all to take a closer look at the world we share with these magnificent creatures.

A Sip of Alexandria Special Exhibit

Celebrate Alexandria’s 275th anniversary at A Sip of Alexandria, our special exhibit brought to you in partnership with Port City Brewing Company. To honor Alexandria’s rich history, this presentation showcases the city’s unique allure through nearly 20 art pieces, all available for purchase. Set amidst the cozy ambiance of Port City Brewing Company’s Lighthouse Lounge, these artworks deftly encapsulate the timeless charm of the historic city. Don’t miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture and history of Alexandria, with the exhibit open until August 1 at Port City Brewing Company, 3950 Wheeler Ave, Alexandria, Virginia.

Summer Art Market at Del Ray Artisans

Join Del Ray Artisans for their 3rd annual Summer Art Market! The two-day, indoor market takes place on Saturday and Sunday, July 13 and 14, from 10 am–4 pm inside Del Ray Artisans gallery. There you’ll find original handmade artwork by talented local artists. Each day is a different group of artists with original work in a wide range of media including ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, mixed media, paper, photography, and more. League communications director and artist Ariane D’Souza will be there Saturday selling her hand-drawn artworks; 2704 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria, Virginia.

Kyo Gallery Art Show at Canal Center

Kyo Gallery is celebrating Alexandria’s 275th birthday with a special group visual arts show at the Canal Center Plaza on Saturday, July 13, at 5 p.m. Art League member Abol Bahadori is among the artists featured in the exhibit.
