Plein Air Painting on Virginia’s Eastern Shore

Join instructor Pattee Hipschen and your host, Current Reflections Fine Arts Gallery for plein air painting in Wachapreague, a small town on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. Arrive Thursday evening for a welcome wine and cheese reception, then enjoy 2 full days (Friday and Saturday) of plein air painting, ending with a day of critique and a wet-paint sale in the gallery on Sunday. Paint sites include local wetlands and marshes, fishing boats, Victorian houses, views of dramatic skies, as well as painting at a local vineyard and on unspoiled barrier islands (weather permitting). Instruction includes demos, critiques, and discussion of techniques and materials. All media are welcome however participants should have experience in their chosen media. Price includes welcome wine reception, 2 catered lunches and 1 communal dinner. Students are responsible for their own supplies, transportation and lodging (recommendations are available for lodging, discounts apply). Additional per person costs include ($10) for optional wine tasting at Chatham Vineyards and $30 boat passage to barrier island (weather permitting).
