After escaping from the South Tower of The World Trade Center in New York on 9/11, artist George Robert Overhiser Jr. witnessed the carnage while standing before a street vendor cart three and a half blocks away. His reflections of the event are presented in stylized gouache on canvas and oil paint applied directly onto faceted stainless steel; the same material from which the vendor carts are made. The result is an impactful, dynamic reflection of shocking, discordant imagery.
