Professionally, Raquel provides advocacy and vocational supports to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.; Once a prolific writer, what was once her pen and paper is now loom and shuttle, color and texture.; In August 2010, one of her wall-hangings was featured in the outdoor exhibit SAORI Bridges of Elm Park in Worcester, Massachusetts.
